- Preheat the oven to 350F/180C/Gas 4.
- Put the fruit in a wide pan with the vanilla seeds and pods, sugar and port. Bring to a simmer and loosely cover. Cook for 10-15 minutes until the fruit is tender, then tip into an oven proof baking dish and set aside to cool.
- In a bowl rub together the butter and flour until well incorporated and a sand-like consistency, then add the oats and nuts. Finally add the sugar and mix everything together well. Sprinkle the mixture over the fruit and bake for 25- 30 minutes or until the top is lightly golden and the fruit is bubbling.
- Serve right away with vanilla ice cream or cream.
